All Philadelphia rockers Free Energy want to do is just to rock out and have fun. When Stuck On Nothing, the debut album of the five piece band came out back in 2010, it was a refreshing breath of unpretentious rock songs. It was high-energy sugar-pop music that you would probably be too embarrassed to jam out to, but you still would, because it was so much fun to do so.
Free Energy has aimed bigger for their sophomore album. Love Sign, is as front-man Paul Sprangers described, “dumber and bigger. Like if it’s…going to be big and dumb, it should be the biggest and dumbest it ever could be.” And it is – all clear sounds and mixes, big anthemic vocals with an added mix of 80s nostalgic synths and cowbells.
