Album To Check Out: Moonface – With Siinai: Heartbreaking Bravery

You might have known Spencer Krug, the multi-talented Canadian singer-songwriter from his many starring roles in various bands. Whether collaborating as part of Frog Eyes, indulging in the art-prog of Sunset Rubdown, or leading the sadly-on-hiatus Wolf Parade, Krug has been prominent and active in his musical works. Moonface, his latest iteration, is the moniker for his solo project – Spencer just working with himself.

With Siinai: Heartbreaking Bravery is Moonface‘s second full-length. And as explicitly stated in its title, the record was done with the collaboration of Finnish rock band Siinai, whom Krug met while he was touring with Wolf Parade. The album is is a satisfying collection of pulsating krautrock and enjoys a specially strong back end.

Check out the video for the booming Teary Eyes and Bloody Lips below, one of the fantastic closers of the album.

Moonface is playing the Luminary Center on 6/24. Check him out. (tickets here)

Moonface – With Siinai: Heartbreaking Bravery comes out 4/17 via Jagjaguwar (order here)
