TV Girl is the San Diego pop duo of Trung Ngo and Brad Petering. The Wild, The Innocent, The TV Shuffle is their first full length album following the release of two earlier EPs. Both the full length and the EPs are sample heavy mixes taking sound bytes from music, internet, and TV shows.
Except, TV Girl doesn’t call The Wild, The Innocent, The TV Shuffle an album. Instead, they refer to it as a mix-tape. Why call it a mix-tape? As they detailed in their email newsletter, they’re calling it that because they’re offering it as a free download to the denizens of the Internet (as they did with their earlier EPs).
This will be their last “mix-tape” though. The Wild, The Innocent, The TV Shuffle is TV Girl‘s final hurrah in their world of music-sampling. After the album, they’re moving in a completely new musical direction.
As it is though, enjoy TV Girl‘s final “tribute to the…ephemera that has captured (their) hearts and minds“. Oh yeah, the download comes with an incredibly zany activity book, complete with connect-the-dots, spot-the differences, and other games that you must see to believe.
