Album To Check Out: Mount Eerie – Clear Moon

Mount Eerie is Washington-based musician Phil Elverum. The music that Elverum makes is kinda hard to describe. It is a lo-fi mix of acoustic folk combined with atmospheric black metal drones. Wildly experimental and richly elemental, Mount Eerie borrows imagery heavily from nature in his songs and transports the listener to it.

Clear Moon is Mount Eerie‘s fourth full length LP and is the first of two records he is planning to release this year. The companion album Ocean Roar comes out later this year. The music of Clear Moon is very moody and moving. Perfect for those long drives through the mountains.

Listen to first single House Shape embedded below.

Mount Eerie – Clear Moon comes out 5/22 via P.W. Elverum and Sun (order here)
