Album To Check Out: Laurel Halo – Quarantine

Laurel Halo is Brooklyn via Ann Arbor based electronic DJ producer Ina Cube. After releasing two EPs the last two years – 2010’s King Felix and 2011’s Hour Logic, Halo is now ready to release her excellent debut LP, Quarantine.

Quarantine is a dizzying, meticulously crafted work of art. Equal parts cerebral and equal parts droning, the songs in the record are ambient and finely textured. It is guaranteed to lift and toy with your emotions as the music bounces around. Just as fittingly, the album art is one of the most fascinating yet chilling drawings I have seen.

Laurel Halo – Quarantine comes out 6/5 via Hyperdub (order here)
