Album To Check Out: Summer Camp – Always EP

Summer Camp are Elizabeth Sankey and Jeremy Warmsley, the retro loving indie pop band based in the UK. Previously, they released a bunch of 80’s-influenced nostalgia-based singles that could come straight from a John Hughes movie. Their debut album, Welcome To Condale, is a concept album that soundtracks life in a fictional California town.

For their newest EP Always, Summer Camp have shifted gears again. This time, the duo are inspired by the shimmering sounds of 70’s era disco mixed with 80’s style new wave and synth pop. It makes for an interesting mix and a dancerific beat.

Check out the streams for two of the catchier songs from the EP, Always and Life below. There’s also a French version of Always that you should check out!

Summer Camp – Always EP comes out 7/10 via Apricot Recording Company/Moshi Moshi (order here)
