JEFF the Brotherhood are Jake and Jamin Orrall, brothers from Tennessee. The duo makes fuzzy, fun garage pop music that invites comparison to Weezer (the early Blue Album years). The lyrics of their songs are simple yet fun. Basically, all the brothers want to do is have a party, and what’s wrong with that?
Hypnotic Nights, their seventh studio album and first with major label Warner continues this tradition. The album is an expansion of an earlier teaser EP they released this year (called Hypnotic Nights EP, natch) that contains four of the recorded songs. The record is produced by the Black Key‘s Dan Auerbach who knows a thing or two about two-man bands, catchy garage-pop, and having fun. Hypnotic Nights will and should soundtrack your drunken summer parties.
