Jens Lekman, the Swedish pop troubadour, is not a particular hard fellow to peg. He sings plaintively and melancholy (sometimes wittingly) on songs about love and not-love, accompanied by his guitar.
I Know What Love Isn’t, Lekman’s third studio album is more about the latter, as can be seen from it’s title. There’s also another song called She Just Don’t Want To Be With You Anymore. And another called The End Of The World Is Bigger Than Love. Despite it’s theme of not-love though, the songs still retain a sense of longing and romanticism – hallmarks of all Lekman records. It’s what makes them so appealing. Even if Lekman is singing about the phone book, he’d still make you fall in love with it.
