Band Discovery: The Mowgli’s

The Mowgli’s are eight musician friends from Los Angeles who embody one of the best qualities of the Californian state where they came from – an outpouring of love. The bands that I would describe them to be most similar to are are Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros and Grouplove. Like these bands, The Mowgli’s embrace the communal aspects of their band size, frequently employing boy-girl sing-songs and group harmonies. You can’t help but sing a long with their songs and feel the warmth of the joy in it.

The Mowgli’s are planning to release their debut EP, Love’s Not Dead, on 10/30. In the meantime, check out the video for their insatiable catchy single San Francisco, which coincidentally was used by the MLB as soundtrack for the San Francisco Giant’s playoff run (but are about to be crushed by my hometown St Louis Cards, just saying).
