Indians is the moniker of a one-man band – Copenhagen resident Søren Løkke Juul. As Indians, Juul has created an immersive, beautiful, yet lonely sound that have some describing him to be Denmark’s answer to Bon Iver, albeit in a more electronic form. The music that is found in his debut record, Somewhere Else, feels big and encompassing, which paradoxically makes you wonder how one man is able to do it.
I had the chance to catch Indians at the end of last year, when he opened for Other Lives. Despite the fact that he only started playing to live crowds a year ago and despite the fact that the majority in audience have never heard of him, Juul quickly won them over with his awkward enthusiasm and embracing music, kinda like how this record will do so.
