Album To Check Out: Royksopp & Robyn – Do It Again

robynroyksoppIt seemed that if you are a fan of a certain genre of playful electronic dance music, then the region of Scandinavia is the place to go. There you will find the Norwegian DJs Berge and Brundtland who form the electronic house duo Royskopp. There you will also find the Swedish electronic dance-pop queen Robyn.  Both acts offer the best of modern Euro-style electronic dance hits in their own stylistic ways – Royskopp are more warmly classic and Robyn is more icily power-pop. Both acts also have been missing for awhile, each releasing albums almost 5 years ago, back in 2010.

Well that is going to change in a big way, Royksopp & Robin are teaming to release a collaborative mini EP album called Do It Again that is sure to satiate those of us craving for some fun dance music. The EP will actually serve as an introduction to a new full length from Royksopp, which will feature reworked versions of two of the songs, coming out later this year. Despite this though, the songs actually feel representative of the differing styles of each act. There are songs that could very easily come from the Royskopp discography, while there are a couple that is just oh-so distinctively Robyn. Either way, Do It Again should serve as a nice little filler for fans of both acts. Only problem is, after listening to the record, you know you want more.
