With a name such as Twin Peaks, you would think that the young four-piece Chicago rock band bearing the same moniker as the highly revered, cultish Lynchian TV thriller would be a little bit weird in their music. Instead Twin Peaks the band actually plays nicely pleasurable power pop jams.
Like the 2013 debut record Sunken, Twin Peaks‘ newest record Wild Onion is one that is filled with jangly, good time power chords. Though, it is, at least, slightly a smudge darker than its predecessor. Still, these are songs that sounds great as sing-alongs while drinking in bars. Hey, it’s not really idiosyncratic nor surrealistic like the TV show, but the young kids of Twin Peaks rather have you a good time.
